In an interview from Cedar Rapids, IA with CSPAN’s Steve Scully taped over the weekend, former Johns Hopkins neurosurgeon Ben Carson, a candidate for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, reacted to an attack from the field’s current front-runner, Donald Trump.
Carson chalked Trump’s rhetoric up to the real estate mogul seeing Carson as a threat to his candidacy.
“My response is of course, he is obviously very worried about me and concentrates a lot on trying to denigrate me,” Carson said. “You know, some people will try to win at all costs,” Carson continued. “That’s what they try to do. I’m not one of those people. Trying to tear someone else down is not part of the character for me.”
