Former NBA star Kareem Abdul-Jabbar appeared on the Thursday broadcast of “The Last Word” on MSNBC to talk about his TIME column where he listed what GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump has in common ISIS.
According to Abdul-Jabbar, Trump is not committing the violence that Islamic State is. Instead, Abdul-Jabbar said he “exploits” the fear of the people when something violent happens, which he said does ISIS’s work for them.
“What I’m trying to say is that although Mr. Trump isn’t committing the violence, when the violence happens, he exploits it. Instead of offering practical and realistic solutions, he’s exploiting people’s fear and he’s doing ISIS’s work for them. And that is something that we can’t let him keep doing. We have to say something about it in order to maybe somehow impact it.”
