Democratic presidential candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stated Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s Muslim travel plan is “dangerous” and “plays right into the hands of the terrorists” on Thursday’s broadcast of NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
Hillary said, “I no longer think he’s funny.” And “now he has gone way over the line. And what he’s saying now is not only shameful and wrong, it’s dangerous.”
She added, “this latest demand that we not let Muslims into our country really plays right into the hands of the terrorists, and I don’t say that lightly, but it does. He is giving them a great propaganda tool, a way to recruit more folks from Europe and the United States. And because it’s kind of crossed that line, I think everybody, and especially other Republicans, need to stand up and really say, ‘Enough. You’ve gone too far. That’s not who we are. That’s not the kind of country that we believe we are. And we’re just not going to tolerate it.’ And so, I hope more people will do that.”
