FS1’s Jason Whitlock: Media Trying to ‘Shame and Bully’ Brady for Support of Trump — ‘Very Shallow’

Fox Sports 1 personality and J.School blogger Jason Whitlock reacted Thursday to the criticism received by Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for his support and friendship of GOP front-runner Donald Trump.

Whitlock defended Brady for his loyalty to Trump, saying he thinks the media is “trying to shame and bully” the superstar quarterback for not separating himself from Trump after some controversial comments.

“I completely defend and respect Tom Brady’s loyalty,”he said. “I think the media trying to shame and bully him away from Donald Trump is shortsighted and stupid and very shallow. Look, this guy befriended Trump when Trump was a guy that hosted the Miss Universe pageant, owned golf courses and was kind of an interesting celebrity. Now Trump has stepped into the political arena and the political arena baits you to be polarizing and now we really bait people to be demagogues in order to gain relevancy.”

He also added, “I don’t think all of what Trump is doing reflects the friendship and the relationship that he and Tom Brady had built and I just don’t run away from my friends that fast. I respect the hell out of Brady for not.”
