Former NFL quarterback appeared Monday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” and the widely-considered biggest bust in NFL history discussed addiction and now free agent quarterback Johnny Manziel.
Manziel’s NFL career has been in question since multiple off-field issues, and Leaf, who has had multiple problems with the law, said watching Manziel is “like holding up a mirror sometimes.”
“This happens to anybody who’s addicted to anything. It’s about substance abuse, it’s about whatever you use as a maladaptive behavior,” Leaf explained. “It helps them numb whatever they’re feeling. And I can relate totally to what he’s going through. I’ve said that it’s like holding up a mirror sometimes to seeing the behaviors that he’s exhibiting.”
