From a San Diego Fox 5 report, video of retired Marine Josue Barron crawling up a hill on his hands and one leg has gone viral.

The video was shot at a reunion this weekend at Camp Pendleton, CA for Marines who were deployed to Afghanistan in 2010, members of the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment.

As part of the event, the Marines had to trek up a steep hill where crosses were placed to honor fallen members.

Barron, missing a leg and an eye, went to travel up the hill to see the crosses for fallen members of his unit. He can be seen in the video crawling on his hands and without his prosthetic with the help of two others and the cheers of those around him.

“I had told myself I want to see those crosses, and it took me five years to get up there. I knew I had to get up there some way some how,” Barron said. “The leg wasn’t working the way I wanted it to work, so I just took it off and kind of crawled on my arms and one leg.”

He was reportedly injured in Afghanistan when a fellow Marine stepped on a roadside bomb, causing him to lose a leg and an eye.

He told Fox 5, “I can’t let my amputation and my eye slow me down.”
