Thursday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) said the presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump now softening his position on the temporary ban on Muslim entering the United States is a “good start” in earning his vote.

Flake said, “Well, it was a good start today when we heard the ban of Muslims was a merely a suggestion and not a firm policy. That was a good start. I’m glad he’s walking that back. There is some other things,. The notion that you are going to change liable laws to go after those that disagree with you, things he said about the debt and putting in question of the full faith of the credit debt in the U.S. there is a few things he needs to talk about and I hope he does.”

He added, “It is a good sign frankly that he’s willing to meet with members who don’t share some of his positions and that he seems to be softening on some of his issues.”
