GOP Rep Gowdy: During Benghazi Attack, ‘They Thought the Best Use’ of Panetta’s Time Was Calling Koran-Burning Pastor and YouTube

Benghazi Select Committee Chairman Representative Trey Gowdy (R-SC) stated that during the Benghazi attack, officials thought the best use then-Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta’s time “was to call a pastor who was going to burn a Koran, and a YouTube — and the folks at YouTube” on Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom.”

Gowdy said, [relevant remarks begin 6:40] “Leon Panetta’s — they thought the best use of his time was to call a pastor who was going to burn a Koran, and a YouTube — and the folks at YouTube, as opposed to finding out hey, what’s going on with the orders I gave you several hours ago.”
