James Moore: ‘Certain Percentage’ of US Is Angry Obama’s President ‘Because of the Color of His Skin’

On Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “All In,” author and journalist James Moore argued, “there’s a certain percentage of our population, which is angry in a way that goes beyond political, that Barack Obama is our president, and they don’t like it, simply because of the color of his skin.”

Moore said, “[O]ne of the things I think that we’re all sort of dancing around in our national discourse of this, Chris, is that, we’re refusing to acknowledge that there’s a certain percentage of our population, which is angry in a way that goes beyond political, that Barack Obama is our president, and they don’t like it, simply because of the color of his skin. And that has animated them in ways that I think that, have been gone for many decades, but it has come back. And I think that that’s a part of our zeitgeist now, and we’re sort of unwilling to acknowledge it, but it’s out there, and we need to confront it. And you can ask for prayers all you want, it’s easy to say, let’s all pray together and solve this, but it takes a hell of a lot of courage to stand up and do something about it, and I think our country is looking for that kind of leadership right now.”
