DHS Head: ‘Premature’ for MN Governor to Claim Castile Would Be Alive if He Was White

Sunday, on NBC’s “Meet The Press,” while commenting on the recent police shooting in Minnesota and if he agrees with Minnesota governor Mark Dayton (D), who said if Philando Castile was white he would be alive today, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said, “that may be premature.”

Johnson said, “I want to resist labels like that, that may be premature. I think we ought to let the investigation play itself out. There ought to be something that’s fairly swift, transparent, and if necessary, accountability.”
