Gingrich on 2016 Election: ‘This Will Be the Most Decisively One-sided News Coverage in American History’

Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “On the Record,” former House Speaker Newt Gingrich reacted to the media’s coverage of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s remarks about the possibility of his opponent Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton imposing regulations on the Second Amendment through her Supreme Court nominees and how supporters of the Second Amendment might act.

According to Gingrich, the media reaction was indicative of what he declared to be the most one-sided news coverage in American history.

“I think this is such garbage that it’s unbelievable,” he said. “And what happens is a reporter runs up to Paul Ryan, gives him the reporter’s version and given the reporter’s version, Ryan responds. Every Republican should learn this will be the most decisively one-sided news coverage in American history and that assume every day that people are going to take Trump on and are going to try to distort what he said. I saw what he said, I read what he said. I thought the coverage the first couple of hours was an absurdity, and then they spent the last 24 hours on it.”
