Thursday night on MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” former Democratic National Committee chairman and former Gov. Howard Dean (D-VT) said Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump cannot make inroads with minority voters because Trump has been “dog whistling for an entire year.”

Dean said, “Donald Trump has zero chance of having any significant inroad into the minority vote. He has done himself so much damage. You remember, these communities have been taken advantage of by the majority community for a very, very, very long time.  You don’t suddenly switch on a dime and convince them with a speech like that, oh, yeah, now you’re on their side after dog whistling for an entire year.”

He added, “He has no idea. This was some speech written by who knows who, because the new campaign manager doesn’t believe any of this given his record. I don’t know where this is coming from. It’s another confusing day on the Donald Trump reality show.”
