Democratic Miami Beach, FL Mayor Philip Levine discussed the five confirmed cases of the Zika virus linked to the beach on Sunday’s “Cats Roundtable” on New York AM 970, saying the virus has been contained.

“Those 15 mosquitos have been put under arrest. They’ve been apprehended. We have them in jail right now. They’ve all seen legal counsel,” Levine said to host John Catsimatidis. “All kidding aside, we have contained the small little outbreak of Zika, which was very limited. One section of Miami — it wasn’t Miami Beach.”

After the CDC’s announcement of a travel advisory for the Miami area, Levine told Catsimatidis in a follow-up interview that Miami is “running smoothly,” and that they are going after the mosquitoes in the area, adding that the travel advisory was “only for pregnant women in a very small portion of Miami Beach.”
