Thursday on CNN’s “New Day,” Democratic vice-presidential nominee Tim Kaine took a shot at Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump for his trip to Mexico a day earlier.
According to Kaine, Trump’s endeavor demonstrated diplomacy wasn’t for amateurs and that Trump was an an “amateur.”
“Donald Trump did kind of a photo-op fly-by, where he didn’t even have the nerve at the last minute to bring up this issue about the wall,” Kaine said. “This is the central piece of his campaign – immigration and deportation and we’re going to build a wall and make Mexico pay for it. But when he looks President Peña Nieto in the eye, he couldn’t even bring that up. That was a choke and I think that it shows the diplomacy is not for amateurs and Donald Trump is an amateur.”
