Kurtz: Clinton Press Conference Performance Was ‘Extraordinarily Low Key’

Thursday on Fox News Channel’s “Your World,” Fox News Channel’s “Media Buzz” host Howard Kurtz said Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s return to the campaign trail after her pneumonia diagnosis with a speech followed by a press conference had a performance that was “‘extraordinarily low key.”

When asked about Clinton performance, Kurtz said, “It seemed to me to be extraordinarily low key on both sides. This was the press’ first shot at Hillary Clinton since the pneumonia had sidelined her and the handful of questions we had, why are the polls tightening, which is really like how is it you’re in danger of losing to Donald Trump but never produces a newsworthy answer and then there was also a question about her relationship with Tim Kaine which voters don’t care about. She was asked of course about the mishandling of pneumonia diagnosis and she gave such a brief answer that I think she was deliberately trying not to make news and give the media a sound bite that would keep that story line alive. ”

He added, “I think voters now because of the pneumonia, are scared, if you want to call it that, are going to be watching her body language, her voice how vigorous she is. That may not be fair but she is 68-years old and she just had this incident of sickness.”
