Axelrod: Gore Was ‘A Hero’ In 2000 Election

During CNN’s coverage of Wednesday’s presidential debate, CNN Senior Political Commentator and former Obama advisor David Axelrod declared that Al Gore was “a hero” in how he handled the 2000 election.

Axelrod said, “Al Gore, he — believe me, as Van said, there were many, many people in this country who wanted him to fight on, and he said, I think it’s best for the country to accept the result. He was a hero in that instance.”
