MSNBC: Democrats Used to Think Comey Was ‘Wonderful,’ ‘Great,’ Above Questioning

On Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” the show played a montage of Democrats praising FBI Director James Comey in the past.

After playing a clip of Democratic presidential nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Saturday, blasting Comey’s letter to Congress announcing he was taking another look at her emails as “pretty strange,” “unprecedented,” and “deeply troubling.” Co-host Mika Brzezinski then said that the Clinton camp’s position now is “extremely different” from their past positions.

The show then played Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) on October 16th praising Comey as a “wonderful, and tough career public servant,” with “the highest standards of integrity.” It also aired Clinton herself praising the FBI’s “professionalism” on September 9th, a clip from July 7th where House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) called Comey “great” man who the country was “very privileged” to have as FBI Director, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) stating that “no one can question” Comey’s integrity or competence, and Representative Elijah Cummings (D-MD) saying he was “proud” of Comey.

Co-host former Republican Congressman Joe Scarborough mocked the Democrats for their change of opinion, and added, “[I]t’s so confusing, because Trump’s people were just the opposite, until this weekend.”
