During an interview aired on Wednesday’s CNN special, “The Legacy of Barack Obama,” former Obama adviser David Axelrod argued that it’s “indisputable” that “there was a ferocity to the opposition and a lack of respect to” President Obama “that was a function of race.”

Axelrod said, “It’s…indisputable that there was a ferocity to the opposition and a lack of respect to him that was a function of race.”
