Krauthammer: Media Coverage of Clinton Faithless Elector Push Showed Desire To Delegitimize Trump Win

On Tuesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Special Report,” columnist Charles Krauthammer criticized the coverage of the movement to have Republican electors vote against President-Elect Donald Trump as indicative of a desire to diminish and take legitimacy away from Trump’s electoral win.

Krauthammer said it was “poetic justice” that Clinton had the most faithless electors since 1872. He further blasted the faithless elector movement as a “joke” from the start, and argued that it’s the job of the voters to stop demagogues, not the Electoral College after the election.

Krauthammer also argued that the amount of coverage given to the faithless elector movement was due in part to a desire to cover anything that could delegitimize or diminish Trump’s victory.
