After beating Colgate 77-62 Monday, there was a big a surprise waiting for Notre Dame junior guard Matt Farrell.
Matt’s older brother, Bo, a U.S. Army Lieutenant on deployment in Afghanistan, appeared on the video board congratulating Matt for his victory and saying he cannot wait to see him “really, really soon.”
The camera then panned out to reveal Bo was in the team’s locker room.
Bo walked out onto the court while Matt rushed over to hug him.
Matt had not seen his brother since May and was not expecting to see him again until February.
“I don’t even know what to say,” Farrell said via South Bend Tribune. “I’m just lost for words. It’s awesome, man. I can’t wait to spend Christmas with him.”
