Graham at Russia Hacking Hearing: ‘It Is Time Now Not to Throw Pebbles, But to Throw Rocks’

Thursday at the Senate Armed Services Committee hearing on Russian Hacking and Cybersecurity, while questioning National Intelligence Director James Clapper, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said it time to “not to throw pebbles but to throw rocks.”

Graham said,  “Here’s what I would hope he realizes: that if he has to take action against North Korea, which I think that he is going to have to do, and I intend to support him, but he has to explain to the American people why, and one of the explanations he’ll give is what I was told by the people who are in the fight, and let me tell you this, you don’t wear uniforms, but you are in the fight. And we’re in the fight for our lives. I just got back from the Baltics, Ukraine and Georgia. If you think that it is bad here, you ought to go there. So, ladies and gentlemen, it is time now not to throw pebbles, but to throw rocks. I wish we were not here. If it were up to me, we would all live in peace, but Putin is up to no good, and he needs to be stopped. And Mr. President-Elect, when you listen to this, you can be skeptical, but understand they’re the best among us, and they’re trying to protect us. Thank you, all.”
