Dem Rep Schiff: No One Is Undermining Trump Presidency More Than Trump

Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said President-elect Donald Trump is undermining his presidency by questioning the intelligence community’s conclusions that Russia’s hacked the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

Schiff said, “There is no one who is more undermining the legitimacy of the Trump presidency than Donald Trump himself. His continued refusal to accept the obvious, accept the core conclusions of the intelligence conclusions that this was Russia. You know the statement that he issued, well, Russia, China and others, He included everyone but the 400-pound fat guy.”

“It’s still more denial about what took place and one of the key conclusions of the intelligence agencies in that report is this was not a one-off,” he continued. “They will do this again. They will do it to us. They will do it to Germany, to France. This is an attack on liberal democracy. We in congress on a bipartisan basis need to be able to work with this new president to push back across the full spectrum of Russian-maligned influence and this tells me he’s not stepping up to the job. ”
