Maher: Trump ‘Emboldening’ Cops, Some Start With Bad Attitudes, ‘It Kind of Breeds That Kind of Person’

On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher argued President Trump is “emboldening the people who wear badges, and sometimes, they have a bad attitude to begin with. It kind of breeds that kind of person.”

Maher said, “[W]e seem to be airing on the side of a police state. He’s emboldening the people who wear badges, and sometimes, they have a bad attitude to begin with. It kind of breeds that kind of person. I — just off the top of my head, I wrote down the number of police forces I could think of, local police, state police, highway police, sheriff’s department, federal police, US Marshals, TSA, DEA, FBI, ATF, Homeland Security investigations, border cops. This is too many cops. We have too many police forces and too many people with uniforms and guns and a bad attitude in America.”
