Pittsburgh Mayor Takes on Trump, Tom Brady in New Campaign Ad

With the primary set to begin in a month, Democratic Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto released a new ad for his 2017 mayoral campaign Monday.

In the 30-second ad titled “Great City,” Peduto takes a jab at both President Donald Trump and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

“Mr. President, you say you’ll make America great again,” Peduto begins. “Well, Pittsburgh has defined greatness.”We got up off the mat and grew our city for the first time in 50 years with billions in new investment, more

He continues, “We got up off the mat and grew our city for the first time in 50 years with billions in new investment, more police and firefighters, job training for thousands of new jobs and affordable housing in every neighborhood.”

The ad then concludes with a picture of Trump hugging Brady in a newspaper story with the headline, “Donald Trump:  Tom Brady says I’m the greatest.”

“Mr. President, if you keep trying to cut health care and after-school programs, even a Patriots fan like you should know that won’t play in Pittsburgh,” he states.

Once the spot ends, a banner pops up that reads, “Re-elect a good mayor.”
