National Border Patrol Council’s Del Cueto: ‘We’ve Seen More Aggression’ Against Agents on the Southern Border

On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Varney & Co.,” National Border Council Local 2544 of Tuscon, AZ President Art Del Cueto stated that while the number of illegal border crossings is falling, “we sometimes look at this as honeymoon period…where a lot of these individuals, that — they’ve slowed down, but there are still individuals that are crossing.” And aggression towards agents on the southern border has increased.

Del Cueto said it was “refreshing” that the administration was “ahead of the game, and they really want to push border security.”

He later added that while the number of people crossing the border illegally is down, “But what’s scary is, we sometimes look at this as honeymoon period…where a lot of these individuals, that — they’ve slowed down, but there are still individuals that are crossing. That’s what you need to understand. And the ones that are crossing are still very desperate to come through, because what we have seen is, we’ve seen more aggression against Border Patrol agents down on the southern border when — of these individuals that don’t want to be detected.”
