In his opening monologue Friday on HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher ripped President Donald Trump for pulling the United States out of the Paris climate accord.

“The laughingstock on the world stage that is Donald Trump pulled out of the Paris climate accord this week as you know,” Maher stated. “I feel like I’m watching the fall of the Roman Empire set to the music of Benny Hill.”

Maher noted how 190 countries, including North Korea, signed the Paris agreement, and the president said he does not want the U.S. to be mocked by the rest of the world, which Maher said is not the case.

“[H]e says, ‘We don’t want other leaders of other countries laughing at us, and they won’t be,'” he added. “OK, they weren’t laughing at us, you waddling outhouse. They were laughing at you!”
