Sen Johnson: GOP Heath Care Not ‘Honest,’ ‘Courageous’ — I’m Voting Against Motion to Proceed

Tuesday on Fox News Channel’s “’America’s Newsroom,” while discussing the Republican efforts to repeal and replace Obamacare, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) said he would vote against the motion to proceed because “it’s too early.”

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) became the fourth Republican Senator to say he will vote against a motion to proceed with the health care bill.

He was joined by Sens. Rand Paul (R-KY), Susan Collins (R-ME) and Dean Heller (R-NV).

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R.-KY.) needs 51 votes to move the bill forward.

Johnson said, “I’m not asking months, but let’s take a couple of weeks. Let’s be thoughtful about this. Give me a chance to make the case to improve it. I was trying to make the case in the Senate, pretty much largely ignored. We literally are ignoring the fact that Obamacare artificially drove up premiums double, in some cases triple. Now, there’s a reason for that. We refuse to do the root cause analysis. We refuse to be honest and, I would say courageous enough to point out that all these things that sound nice have very serious negative unintended consequences called doubling and tripling your premiums.”
