Paul to ‘Weak-Kneed Republicans’: ‘Get Over Themselves,’ Remember They Were for ‘Repealing Obamacare’

Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom,” while discussing the Senate Republican health care bill, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said “weak-kneed Republicans” needed to “get over themselves” and remember that they were for “repealing Obamacare.”

Paul said, “One reason the bill is so unpopular is half the country are Democrats, half are Republican. All the Democrats hate it. Interestingly, about half the Republicans hate it. Seventy-five percent of the public hates it. The half of Republicans that hate it are conservatives like myself who went to rally after rally after rally saying we were going to repeal Obamacare, and now we are not repealing it, we are keeping it. These weak-kneed Republicans up here who are saying we have to spend more money and keep Medicaid forever, they need to get over themselves, and they need to remember what they were for—repealing Obamacare.”

Paul said he is hopeful the Republicans will pass a bill, but he added, “I won’t vote for it if it keeps Obamacare.”
