Uber Driver Sues Former Panthers Offensive Lineman Michael Oher: ‘He Just Bit Me’

Free agent offensive lineman Michael Oher faces misdemeanor charges of assaulting an Uber driver from an April incident.

Per Tennesseean, Oher, the subject of the movie “The Blindside,” is being sued by an Uber driver named Girma Berkess, who told 911 dispatchers Oher was “drunk” and trying to “attack” him when he gave him a ride on April 14.

“I’m [being] attacked right now,” a distressed Berkess said during his 911 call. “He just attacked me!”

Berkess then told the 911 dispatcher that Oher “bit” him on the back.

In the suit, Berkess says Oher pushed him to the ground, kicked him and called him a homophobic slur several times.

Oher is scheduled to be in court October 31 for a hearing regarding the assault charge.

The Carolina Panthers released the 31-year-old offensive lineman Thursday. He has been in the NFL’s concussion protocol since September.
