GOP Rep Meadows: Trump ‘Making Phone Calls in the Middle of the Night, Early in the Morning’ on Health Care

Monday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, acknowledged there were “sweeteners” at Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) disposal to get a successful vote on the Republican health care bill.

Also, part of the process Meadows said was President Donald Trump efforts, which Meadows said had been going on around the clock.

“[T]here is enough money to make sure that those pre-existing conditions are taken care of, and the negotiations have been going on around the clock over the weekend,” Meadows said. “So, I fully expect that we will see some real results this week. But most Americans are saying, ‘It’s about time.’ And the president, I know — no one has worked harder than the president to try to get this done. People don’t realize. No one has worked harder than the president to get this done. He’s making phone calls in the middle of the night, early in the morning and saying we have got to be all hands on deck. And we have got it actually deliver here.”
