Tuesday on CNN’s “Newsroom,” Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) said House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) would “absolutely” lead the Democratic Party to victory in the 2018 midterm elections.
Lieu said, “As a vice chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, we’re working hard to make sure we have the best candidates going into next November. But keep in mind we have to flip 24 seats in the House—23 of them Hillary Clinton did win those districts, and in an additional nine, Barack Obama won twice. So we are in a good position, but we have to keep working and make sure the American people understand that the Democrats are fighting for the middle class.”
When asked if Pelosi and Schumer are the right leadership to pull off a power shift, Lieu said, “Absolutely they’re going to get us there.”
