On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher argued that the generals in the Trump administration should stay because they’ll be needed to ensure people don’t act on any “super crazy” orders from the president.
Maher said, “So, the question now that a lot of people are asking, I hear it all the time this week, is, should people around him quit? I mean, he’s obviously shown his cards. He’s not just a racist adjacent, but he is this horrible person. What you think? Because when it comes to the generals, no. I say keep the generals where they are. Because if he does something super crazy, you’re going to need those generals to get on the phone to the base commander and say, ‘He’s nuts, don’t fire the missiles.’ And they’ll listen to a general.”
