Tuesday on MSNBC’s “MTP Daily,” Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) declared the political system broken, given the country elected a “reality TV star” to be president.
Bennet said, “It was broken before Donald Trump was elected president. Now in a sign of how broken our political system is, we have elected a reality TV star to be the leader of the free world. That’s pretty broken, I’d say.”
He added, “I think this president presents a real threat to vital values of the United States with respect to the independence of the judiciary, the importance of the free press, our separation of powers. And it is very important that we get through this moment in our republic’s history with as little damage done to those institutions as possible.”
