Fox Sports 1 “Undisputed” co-host Shannon Sharpe praised the large banner that read “Racism is as American as Baseball” that was presented at Wednesday’s Boston Red Sox game, calling it a “beautiful banner.”
“[T]hey could unfurled that at any other stadium, any other state, but it happened in that stadium in that state, in that city, because although we do know racism exists all across America, Boston is one of the few cities that fails to acknowledge that,” Sharpe said Thursday.
“For the longest time, people thought of baseball as America’s pastime and what that says to me is that just like apple pie and baseball, that’s what racism is,” he added later. “It’s so prevalent in our society.”
