Fox Sports 1 “Undisputed” co-host Skip Bayless reacted Monday to Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown’s sideline tantrum and said it made him “cringe” to see white offensive coordinator Todd Haley put his hand on Brown to calm him down.
Bayless asked if it was “out of bounds” for Haley to put his hand on Brown during the “racial time we live in.”
“I’m going to get to really what I cringe over, and maybe I’m sensitive. I need your help — both of you on this,” Bayless told former star tight ends Shannon Sharpe and Tony Gonzalez
“In this racial time we live in, it was disturbing to me that Todd Haley, his coach, reached out, I don’t know if to restrain him or to pat him on the back and say it’s OK, but he touched his shoulder, and Antonio wheeled and slapped his hand away. What’s going on there? Like, is it out of bounds for a coach, let alone white coach, black player, to put hand on player on the sidelines?”
Gonzalez quickly responded, “Don’t go there, Skip.”
“It’s not out of bounds,” Sharpe added. “It’s out of bounds for a player to act like that with a coach.”
