Watch: Soldiers Shoot Pink Confetti to Reveal Gender of Fallen Soldier’s Baby

With the help of a group of U.S. soldiers currently based in Afghanistan, the wife of fallen Army Spc. Christopher Michael Harris was able to reveal the gender of her baby.

Per ABC 11, Harris, 25, died in August while deployed in Afghanistan when his patrol was struck by a vehicle-borne explosive device, only a week after his wife, Britt Harris, found out she was pregnant.

“When I told him, it was the happiest I’d ever seen him,” Britt Harris told ABC. “He was so excited.”

Christopher Michael Harris was a member of the 2nd Battalion, 504th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, based in Fort Bragg, NC.

“His fellow soldiers have been phenomenal and done everything they can to watch over me even from a distance,” Britt Harris said.

Her husband’s fellow soldiers wanted to be included in the gender announcement, so Britt sent them confetti poppers.

For the announcement, the soldiers recorded themselves opening the poppers to reveal the pink confetti inside.

Britt said she has probably watched the video 100 times.

“I was crying but smiling because their reaction was so wonderful,” she said.
