On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “New Day,” Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) stated President Trump is “trapped in a childhood emotional state” and incredibly emotionally immature.
Merkley said Trump’s statement that other presidents didn’t call the families of fallen soldiers is “one more sign of the incredible emotional immaturity of this president. I have come to accept that he’s trapped in a childhood emotional state and I just hope we can get through these next few years.”
Merkley also stated that the feud between Representative Frederica Wilson (D-FL) and the president over what Trump said to Sgt. La David Johnson’s widow “shows how we’re just trapped in this ‘Game of Thrones’ moment about different people saying different things.”
