Scarborough: ‘Washington Would Be Melting Down Right Now’ If TX Shooter’s Name Were ‘Mohammed’

Monday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” host Joe Scarborough speculated that had the suspected Sutherland Springs, TX shooter, identified as now-deceased 26-year-old Devin Kelley, been named “Mohammed” and was associated with radical Islam, Washington, DC “would be melting down.”

“Make churches safe again. Make schools safe again. We are sadly coming up on the five-year anniversary next month of Sandy Hook. And there are a lot of people who said if that didn’t move people to take a second look at how we can have a more comprehensive approach to not only protecting little kids that go to school but protecting people in Chicago and across the country — if that’s not going to do it, what is?

“And now we have Southern Baptist churches getting shot up,” Scarborough said. “Again, had it been a radical Islamic terrorist with a beard named Mohammed, Washington would be melting down right now. We wouldn’t put up with this with any other epidemic. We would not – if this were terrorism, Islamic, radical terrorism, again Washington would be on fire this morning.”
