Sebelius: People ‘Doubled Down’ on ‘Abusive Behavior’ With Bill Clinton – ‘Very Fair’ to Criticize Hillary for Participating

During an interview on the “Axe Files” podcast released on Wednesday, former Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius (D), who also served as HHS Secretary under President Obama, blasted the response to allegations against former President Bill Clinton as doubling down on “not only bad behavior, but abusive behavior,” and argued it’s fair to criticize Hillary Clinton for participating in this doubling down.

Sebelius said sexual misconduct is bipartisan and urged men to stand up to and call out inappropriate behavior.

After the discussion turned to Bill Clinton, Sebelius stated, “[T]hat shouldn’t happen ever again. Not only did people look the other way, but they went after the women who came forward and accused him. And so, it doubled down on, not only bad behavior, but abusive behavior, and then people attacked the victims. And you can watch that same pattern repeat. And it needs to end.”

Host David Axelrod then asked, “[W]as that fair criticism of Hillary, that she participated in that effort?”

Sebelius answered, “Absolutely. I think it’s very fair.” She also questioned whether impeachment was warranted.

The conversation then turned to Senator Al Franken (D-MN). Sebelius drew a distinction between Franken’s response and the responses of other men who are accused of misconduct. She characterized the responses of other men as “a lot more like what Bill Clinton did.”
