FS1’s Sharpe: ‘No Way’ a Black Player Could Get Away with What Rob Gronkowski Gets Away with

During Friday’s “Undisputed” on Fox Sports 1, co-host Shannon Sharpe argued that no black NFL players could get away with the same antics as New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, who was suspended one game for a late hit on Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White from Sunday’s game.

Gronkowski’s one-game suspension is his first in the NFL, but he is known for his off-field antics. This year, the tight end playfully interrupted a Sean Spicer White House briefing, appeared at WrestleMania, stole Tom Brady’s jersey and chugged a beer that was thrown to him at the team’s Super Bowl celebration parade.

“[Gronkowski] is viewed differently,” Sharpe stated. “There is no way a black tight end or black wide receiver or black anybody could do what Gronk does. Chugging beers at a parade?”
