Tuesday on MSNBC, Republican strategist for former Bush strategist and McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt called Breitbart executive chairman and former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon a “nihilist” and a “fraud.”

Schmidt said, “Well, I can’t speak to the room — I do know this he’s a nihilist. He’s a fraud. He’s a vandal of our institutions in this country. He is a pernicious force in American politics. But he’s not winning anything. Bannonism, Trumpism, 32 percent of the country supports it. Now, understand, Richard Nixon had a 29 percent approval level the day that he resigned the presidency. The numbers aren’t just low. They’re historically low.”
