GOP Rep Dent: DOJ Should Review Evidence on Trump Sexual Assault Charges If It’s Submitted to Them

Saturday, on “MSNBC Live,” Representative Charlie Dent (R-PA) expressed approval of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s statement that the Department of Justice would review any evidence submitted to the DOJ regarding the sexual assault and harassment against President Trump.

Dent was asked, “What do you think should happen with the accusations against our president?”

Dent said Rosenstein’s answer was an “appropriate” one. He continued, “Now that said, as it relates to accusations — I’ll kind of bring this back to the House of Representatives. As a former chairman of the House Ethics Committee, I can tell you that if any member of the House or staff brought an accusation of sexual harassment against a member, the committee would look into it. If there was an actual complaint filed with the committee, we will look into it and we would take it very, very seriously. I suspect that would be the same situation down at the executive branch, as Mr. Rosenstein had said. And if there is evidence that somebody really brings a complaint to the Justice Department, I suspect they’d look at it. But, you’d have to take it up with them.”
