Matthews: I Wonder If the Dow Going up Is Good News Because It Means Regulations Are Being Killed

On Wednesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Hardball,” host Chris Matthews stated he wonders if the Dow Jones going up is good news because the surge in the stock market means pieces of legislation like the Clean Water Act and Clean Air Act are being killed.

Matthews said, “I get the sense that one of the reasons the Dow Jones is going up, it’s generally good news, but in this case, I wonder if it is. Because what it means is all the stuff that we rooted for for the last 40 or 50 years, the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act…are being termited to death, are being killed by administrators who want the government to fail in its mission.”
