University of Alabama Basketball Coach Avery Johnson Praises School for Expelling Student for ‘Vile’ Racist Video

The University of Alabama expelled a sorority girl, Harley Barber, this week over a video she posted online using the “n-word” on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Barber has since been expelled for her actions, and the university’s basketball coach applauded the move, saying he stands with University of Alabama President Stuart Bell.

“There was an unfortunate video, are you guys familiar with the vile, abhorrent that was released on yesterday or the day before, whatever? Obviously, I stand with the university. We don’t condone that kind of behavior. It’s very unfortunate. I know the university is going to deal with it,” Coach Avery Johnson told reporters following his team’s Wednesday victory over rival Auburn.

He added, “I was really disturbed by that video and I thought you guys needed to know about that.”
