Monday on MSNBC’s “Hardball,” network host Andrea Mitchell discussed President Donald Trump calling Democrats “un-American” and “treasonous” because they did not applaud good economic news at his State of the Union address.
Mitchell said, “Well, his lawyers are saying, we’re cooperating, we’re cooperating. He’s not planning to go after Mueller or Rosenstein. But he unleashed just today when he was in Ohio giving what was supposed to be a tax reform speech, not a political speech.”
She continued, “He attacked the Democrats who did not applaud for him at the State of the Union. And said, ‘Well some people say it’s treasonous and maybe it is.’ And suggested they were guilty of treason. And think about the implications of that. It’s crazy. And it certainly is disturbing that our politics have descended to this level.”
