Friday at the Progressive Caucus Strategy Center Summit, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said she eats “nails for breakfast” to fight economic inequality.
Pelosi said, “My motivation is one in five children in America lives in poverty. I can’t handle it. I just can’t handle it. So every day I eat nails for breakfast, don a suit of armor to go out there and fight for the kids, because that is about everything, that is about the future.”
On the difference between Republicans and Democrats, Pelosi added, “We do not have shared values. This is different. We used to have shared values and different approaches. We don’t even have shared values.”
