Breitbart’s Pollak Reflects Back on Trump Presidential Bid — ‘He Understands the American Voter as a Consumer’

During a segment of a show set to air this weekend on CSPAN2’s “Book TV” on Saturday, Breitbart News’ Joel Pollak was joined by authors Bruce Herschensohn and Sam Sorbo, and looked back at Donald Trump’s ascendency to the presidency.

Pollak explained that Trump understood the voters better than his rivals, particularly on the issues of immigration and trade.

“I have to go back to what I wrote when he announced,” Pollak said. “And, I wasn’t sure what to make of it, but I wrote that he understands the American voter as a consumer better than any of the other candidates.”

“[H]e understood that the American voter as a consumer wasn’t getting value for their input, for their vote,” he continued. “And that’s what enabled him to rise very quickly. He understood, particularly on the issues of immigration and trade. There’s a huge market out there that both parties have ignored.”
