Turley: Rosenstein Impeachment Proposal ‘Pretty Frivolous’

On Wednesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley characterized the draft impeachment articles written by members of the House Freedom Caucus against Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein as “pretty frivolous.” Turley further argued that there is nothing against Rosenstein that meets the “very high” bar for impeachment.

Turley said Rosenstein has given “a very strong performance, and particularly yesterday.”

He added, “The impeachment proposal is, I think, pretty frivolous. I was the lead counsel on the last impeachment trial, for Judge Porteous, and this falls far short of anything that would meet that very high standard.”
