Political Strategist Matt Palumbo told Breitbart News Daily SiriusXM host Stephan K. Bannon that Ted Cruz announcing Carly Fiorina as his VP pick appears to be helping the campaign in the short-term, particularly with fundraising, but it’s likely not enough to win him the nomination in the end.

Palumbo said, “I think it helps. I think the jury’s out. I don’t think it’s going to be enough. That’s my personal opinion. I think it’s added a little bit of energy. And also too from a fundraising front, we talked about what is Cruz going to do to compel people to continue to give him $15 and $25 and $50, and from my sources, I think Carly has definitely helped on that front.”

However, he added that the “momentum” seems to be with Trump.

“I think Pennsylvania is the story,” he said. “Winning 67 counties, I think the question went from if he’s going to reach 1,237 to how. I think those unbound delegates in PA are going to put him over the top and really kind of hide any type of mistakes that he’s going to make moving forward unless there’s some really, really egregious unforced error, which I don’t think is going to happen in the coming weeks with this new strategy.”

Team Cruz did roll-out a new line of campaign gear with the announcement, as Breitbart News reported yesterday.

The first round of gear from the Cruz-Fiorina campaign includes tee-shirts, yard signs, buttons and stickers. Supporters were first alerted to the campaign gear in a fundraising email early Thursday.
