Emmy Ratings Tumble 12%

The Los Angeles Times uses a lot of word soup to spin a 12% Emmy viewership drop as a good thing, but that will not change the fact that viewership dropped by double digits, from 17.8 million viewers in 2013 to just 15.6 million Monday night.

The LA Times would like us to know that this was NBC’s highest-rated Monday night, excluding the Olympics, in seven years and the second-highest-rated Emmy telecast in eight years.

The advertiser-coveted 18-49 demo also slipped from 4.3 in 2013 to 3.8.

But that was the fourth-largest non-drop since the eighth Olympics in six years, or something.
